It is crucial to discontinue the use of non-essential medications, including pharmaceuticals that suppress symptoms, before embarking on an Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote experience. Ideally, you should refrain from using medications for up to four weeks prior to and two weeks following the ceremony. Many medications can interfere with the healing potential of Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote, potentially diminishing its effects or altering its outcomes. Trust in the cleansing and healing abilities of Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote to address underlying causes of ailments. Some medications may pose risks when combined with Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote due to their interactions with MAOIs (Monoamine oxidase inhibitors) present in these plant medicines. It is important to be aware of drugs that should be avoided in conjunction with Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote.

Consult with the facilitators of the ceremony and/or your healthcare provider to understand how MAOIs interact with the medications you are taking. For instance, gradually discontinuing the use of antidepressants, SSRIs, and mood stabilizers before the experience ensures that no traces of these medications remain in your system during the ceremony. This precaution is essential to optimize the safety and efficacy of your Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote journey.

Everybody is fully responsible for informing the organizers about past or current drug issues, any serious physical or psychological balance disorders, or current prescription medications. Persons who are under treatment or being monitored by a psychiatrist, undergoing a course of medicines, or using drugs (e.g., heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, marihuana) or have had the mentioned issues in the past, need to consult at CORAZON DE BUFALO staff at least one month before attending the Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote ceremony. Please get in touch with us in case of any questions. Please also contact us about any medication you may need to take prior to the Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote ceremony.

Important Notes (please read):

Consult us in advance in case you have untreated tuberculosis, weak heart, liver condition, or pregnancy or in case of any other health issues that may potentially interfere or be dangerous in combination with Ayahuasca "YAGE" or Peyote.
